NSU blocks transport to free cadres from Maoist clutches

KANCHANPUR: Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), Kanchanpur, has obstructed transport services here today for keeping the NC cadres in captivity by the Maoists.

Cadres of the NSU have been chanting slogans and demonstrating against Maoists at Bhimduttanagar Bazaar from morning.

Cadres of the UCPN Maoist had taken former general secretary of the NSU, Baburam Chitrakar, former central member Gopi Prasad Upadhayay and a leader Tarka Raj Bhatta under control from Gokuleshwor of Darchula on Monday.

The NSU halted vehicular movements demanding immediate release of its cadres. It is said that the three leaders are still under control of the UCPN-Maoist.
