No one disturbing peace will be spared: Home Minister Thapa
BIRATNAGAR: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa today said anyone who disturbs peace and security would not be spared from action as such acts are deemed punishable. “The government will take action lawfully against those disturbing peace and security in the name of a protest,” he said at a seminar on security of State 1 organised by the Ministry of Home.
On the banned Community Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand, he said efforts were on to bring the group into mainstream politics, and that the government had also asked other disgruntled parties to come to the talks table to settle their issues.
The government banned the group of Chand for its criminal activities and for terrorising the general people, he clarified. “The government is people’s government and it will sort out problem (any) through a dialogue.”
In another context, he said the incumbent government had become successful in maintaining friendly relations with both the neighbouring countries and the international arena based on mutual wellbeing.
The two-day seminar that started on Tuesday is attended by high ranking officials of the district administration office, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department.
