New Year 2069 BS a mixed bag, say astrologers

KATHMANDU: Astrologers have predicted that the Nepali New Year 2069 BS that is knocking on the doors is going to be a combination of both good and bad.
According to the astrological prognosis regarding the New Year 2069 BS, the first three months of the New Year that starts on April 13 are going to be very painful with the onset of diseases, people having to suffer from the atrocities of the ruling class and the very likely possibility of a big tumult and the breaking out of conflict and discord.

However, the period after the Nepali month of Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August) has good things in store. Astrologers say the period beyond Shrawan is positive and would bring happy tidings.


President of Nepal Calendar Determination Committee, Dr. Madhav Prasad Bhattarai, said the astrological name of the Year 2069 BS is Bishwabasu.

According to him, as Nepal’s zodiac sign is Sagittarius and as per the planetary configurations under this in the Year 2069 BS, a lot of precipitation is to be expected which will be good for boosting agriculture and cattle farming.

President of the National Astrological Science Service Committee of Nepal, Tilak Raj Paudel said heavy rains will increase the risk of floods, landslide and earthquake and there is also increased risk of fires, accidents and other disasters. He said the public life would be made miserable by these incidents.

In a press release today, Astrologer Paudel said the planetary configurations in the Year 2069 BS are such that it will lead to discord among the people, increase conflict and misunderstanding among the political forces in the country.

He stressed the need for fostering unity in the nation at the people’s level by building a climate of peace and trust. RSS
