New Maoist demands round-table conference, interim unity govt from President
Leaders from the party urged the President to do during a meeting with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at the letters residence in the capital on Sunday.
They claimed that the government cannot resolve the ongoing political impasse while opposition parties including Congress, UML remain on the streets.
Party chairman Mohan Baidya urged the President to act as the guardian of the constitution and pave way for the formation of interim national unity government by incorporating all political parties.
He further said that as it was the President’s responsibility to provide a solution to present political deadlock.
Exiting the meeting, Baidya said that they had called on the President to ensure that the all political parties be included in any decision that the government takes presently.
The meeting was participated by senior leaders of the party including Chairman Mohan Baidya, and leaders Ram Bahadur Thapa, and Netra Bikram Chand among others.
