Nepal’s self-proclaimed ‘Dhartimata’ Bishnu Kunwar under arrest
KATHMANDU: A case of physical assault against a woman by another self-proclaimed ‘Dhartimata’, a healer with magical power, has turned weaker as the alleged victim did not come into contact with the police. The case naming Bishnu Kunwar as the alleged perpetrator has been registered at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu.
But the affected woman is yet to come in contact, according to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu’s Spokesperson Hobindra Bogati. The case could be prosecuted differently if the victim side would come in contact. Police are searching for her. Police arrested Kunwar, a resident of Kalikanagar of Butwal, Rupandehi was arrested from Balaju, Kathmandu, after a video showing a woman abusing another woman went viral on social media on June 20. Police are preparing to deal with the case under the indecent behavior.
Police have reports that the woman had performed such kind of ill-treatment multiple times in the past in the name of ‘freeing’ people of unwanted circumstances with her ‘divine’ power.
