Nepal’s PM backfires at ex-king, warns will snatch all facilities
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that the government would snatch away all facilities provided to former King Gyanendra Shah if he continues activities by forgetting his grounds.
Speaking at a programme organized by Global Bank here today, the Prime Minister said that the monarchy displaced by the people’s movement is in no position to raise its head and added that it would not be acceptable to the government if efforts were made to this end.
Stating that no party is in favour of monarchy though there are disputes among political parties, he said “The former King should know that no party is in favour of returning the dead monarchy even if there are disputes among political parties”.
Prime Minister Bhattarai said that it would not be good if the former King goes out of limit as there is a trend of all political parties coming to one place in difficult times and in national needs though there are disputes among them.
Global IME Bank has been formed after the merger of Global Bank, IME Finance and the Lord Buddha Finance.
On the occasion, Minister for Finance, Barshaman Pun, stressed that financial institutions should be involved in economic development and prosperity of the country.
