Nepal’s Karnali State seeks central govt nod to deploy Army
SURKHET:- The Cabinet meeting of Karnali State on Wednesday has decided to request the federal government for permission to deploy Nepali Army to respond to COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting also decided to employ security workforce to contain the spread of the infection as the risks are reported to be high in the state due to the incoming flux of locals from India.
The deployment of Nepali Army means to manage rescue and quarantine of the people affected by the infection with the help of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, said Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bimala KC.
The meeting also decided to get approval to issue an order for the facilitation of budget implementation of the state in line with the clause 9 of the state appropriation act, 2046 for the implementation of the infrastructure special programme and for the submission of the bill designed to register and operate trade in the state, she said.
It was also decided upon to publish the information to announce public holiday for seven days this year in this state in the Nepal gazette.
