Nepal’s indigenous nationalities conclude to form new ‘political force’
KATHMANDU: Indigenous nationality leaders affiliated to various political parties in Nepal have concluded to form a new political force so as to draft the new constitution by incorporating a unitary-ethnic identity federal model.
Chairman of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) Rajkumar Lekhi claimed that formation of a separate political party was necessary as existing political parties were dominated by anti-federalist forces.
However exact date and formation procedures to form such a political party still remains to be finalized. Lekhi said that discussions will continue on forming it in the days ahead.
National conference of indigenous nationalities that started since Wednesday in capital is expected to come with a detailed protest and pressure programs to secure ethnic federalism in the nation.
These programs will be made public during today’s press conference informed Lekhi.
