Nepali team secures historic win in volleyball championship
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s women volleyball team has clinched the title of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Asian Senior Women Central Zone Volleyball Championship.
In the final match held at Dhaka in Bangladesh in Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium on Thursday, Nepal beat Maldives 3-0. Nepal won in straight sets by 25-13, 25-12 and 25-8 respectively.
Nepal Volleyball Association General-Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand said that it is the first time any volley team of Nepal brought a trophy home from an international volleyball tournament.
