‘Nepali for Hillary’ conducts voter registration camp in Baltimore

BALTIMORE: The ‘Nepali for Hillary’ – an organization which has been campaigning for U.S. presidential candidate from Hillary Clinton of Democratic Party, has completed a voter registration camp in Towson of Baltimore, Maryland on October 16, 2016.

Following the event, a brief program was organized at the office of Democratic Party in Baltimore. Addressing the function, Robbie Leonard, party chief of Baltimore County, praised Nepali community for their work. “We appreciate the work you have been doing here,” Leonard said.
“The U.S. is a place of opportunity for inclusive groups amid diversity. I request Nepali Americans to explore their path of success just like other Americans. The Democratic Party’s concept and trust is all about unity in diversity. And you can participate in it in various ways,” Leonard further said.

Harry Bhandari, who is a Democratic Party member of Nepali origin, said that Nepali community has tremendous trust in Democratic Party. “It is only because of the Democratic Party that the Nepali community has been able to take the Nepali for Hillary campaign to various states,” Bhandari said.
A dozen of Nepalis associated with the Nepali for Hillary campaign participated in the program. T-shirts meant for Hillary Clinton campaign were distributed to participants on the occasion.

Likewise, in the Street Festival organized by the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America (BANA) in Maryland, a stall of Nepali for Hillary was set up, in which people were requested to vote for Hillary and voter registration process was also conducted. Kemika Bhandari coordinated the program. To support the campaign of Nepali for Hillary, the list of voters collected until October 18 was dispatched by post. The next program of Nepali for Hillary campaign to visit households and motivate voters to cast their votes, added Harry Bhandari.
