Nepali Embassy formally recognizes US-Nepal Chambers of Commerce
Washington DC: The Nepali Embassy in the United States has formally recognized the US-Nepal Chambers of Commerce, one of the Umbrella Organizations of Nepali entrepreneurs based in the US. As per the American law this is the non-political and non-profit organization, where around 300 members from 31 states organized.
Following a discussion between the officials of the organization and Embassy on March 1, the Embassy officially recognized the organization and informed that it will communicate the message to the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Industry, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Nepal Chambers of Commerce. Nepali Ambassador to the US, Dr. Shankar Sharma handed over the letter to the chairperson of US-Nepal Chambers of Commerce Mr. Mohan Gyawali amidst the function.
The Embassy will also support the organization to develop relations with the United States Government, US Chambers of Commerce and other organization. It is expected that formation of the US-Nepal Chambers of Commerce would help to promote investment in Nepal.
Addressing the program organized to hand-over the letter, Ambassador Dr. Sharma urged the entrepreneurs to prepare statistics how the US government is benefitting from the Nepali Entrepreneurs. “If you prepare statistics like how much money you have invested and how many people are getting employment from your enterprise, then it would be easier for the Embassy to lobby with the US government for the benefits of Nepali entrepreneurs,” Dr. Sharma added. He expressed his commitment to extend full cooperation from the Embassy’s side.
Speaking at the program members of the Organization informed that they would prepare all the information as outlined by the Ambassador and work for the benefit of Nepali entrepreneurs.
