Nepal under pressure in the issue of Tibet: Ambassador Houlan
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan has claimed that Nepal is under the pressure of ‘some’ forces who have been making attempt to raise Tibetan issue to threaten the stability of China. However, Ambassador Houlan didn’t disclose the name of such forces behind it. Speaking at a program on Friday at Reporters Club in Kathmandu, Ambassador Houlan said China and India have a common view about the latest political situation in Nepal and consultations were underway between New Delhi and Beijing to that end.
“The Chinese Government is hopeful that Nepal will get an outlet to the present situation soon”, he said, adding, “Although the latest political situation in Nepal is complex, the Nepali people are able to resolve it”.
Recalling that China in 1970 passed through the same situation that Nepal is facing at present, Ambassador Houlan suggested Nepal to focus on economic and social development.
The new leadership in China would focus on establishing peace with economic development and environmental balance, Ambassador Houlan said and added that China would be transformed into a prosperous, democratic, modern and social nation by the end of this decade.
