Nepal to export citrus fruits to Tibet

KATHMANDU: The government has been making preparations for exporting citrus fruits to Tibet Autonomous Region of China after officials of Tibet agreed to import citrus fruits produced in Nepal.

Tibet and Nepal signed Citrus Fruits Export and Import Agreement in a bilateral meeting held in Lhasa on July 4 and 5.

Chief of National Plant Quarantine Programme, Ishwor Prasad Rijal, who participated in the meeting, told RSS that preparation has been made to export citrus fruits to Tibet from the coming season.

Stating that Nepal could sell its products in the world market as it is the member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Rijal said that Department of Agriculture has started preparationDirector at Nepal Inter-modal Transport Development Committee and Consulate General of Nepal to Lhasa were present in the meeting.
