Nepal thrashes Bhutan 3-0 in SAFF Women’s Championship
BIRATNAGAR: Nepal beat Bhutan 3-0 in the opening match of the fifth edition of the SAFF Women’s Championship football tournament that kicked off here today.
Nepal opened the scoring with a goal from midfielder Manjali Kumari Yonjan in the 13th minute. The score doubled after Sabitra Bhandari scored in the second half.
Likewise, Niru Thapa contributed the third goal for Nepal.
Nepal is in Group A alongside Bhutan and Bangladesh while India is placed in Group B with Sri Lanka and Maldives. India and Maldives are competing on Wednesday.
