Nepal loses 0-4 to Philippines in AFC U16 Women’s Qualifiers

KATHMANDU: Host Nepal lost to Philippines 0-4 in the opening match of AFC U16 Women’s Qualifiers underway at the ground of Armed Police Force in Halchowk, Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Exerting pressure from the very beginning, Philippines led the match 2-0 in the first half with the scores by Captain Maria Lazo in the 42nd and 45th minute respectively.
Keanne Maicah contributed another goal to the account in the 76th minute and Mikaela Villacin scored the fourth and decisive goal in the 82nd minute.
Nepal will take on Myanmar on Friday. The top two winners qualify for the AFC U16 Women’s Championship scheduled to be held in Thailand next year.
