Nepal govt to form ‘Mt Everest Dialogue’ forum

KATHMANDU: Nepal government has decided to launch an effective programme to promote the Student Enrollment Campaign launched by the Government on the first day of the new Bikram Sambat calendar.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday has decided to launch the campaign for two weeks in a coordination of Ministry of Education with the support of three-tier of governments.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli last year had enrolled Rupa Kumari Mandal and Pawan Mallik from Khatwe and Dom communities, respectively, at the Ram Dulari Secondary School in Kalyanpur.
The PM has made an appeal to everyone to be a part of this campaign and take educational guardianship of children deprived of education. The campaign was initiated by the Government of Nepal, through a Cabinet decision last year, to eradicate illiteracy and has been continued this year as well, said PM’s Press Advisor Dr Kundan Aryal.
Likewise, the meeting has decided to form a permanent forum titled the ‘Mt Everest Dialogue’ to hold discussions on contemporary international issues. The first session of the dialogue will be related to climate change.
