Nepal continues promising constitution after peace process
POKHARA: Senior leader of CPN -UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that new constitution will have to wait unless the Maoist combatants are integrated.
Inaugurating the third national general convention of Local Body Employees’ Association in Pokhara on Thursday, he further said no process would move ahead until the Maoist armies and their arms in the cantonments are dealt with and is the bottom line of all the political parties.
Army and weapon cannot not be a part of any political party now and the state will have a monopoly over them, he said, urging the Maoists to stop daydreaming to build strengths through weapons and shun violence-promoting politics.
Claiming that no Unitarian tendency could prevail in the country, leader Nepal said the ultra leftist authoritarian thoughts of any force would not be acceptable anymore.
The Maoists possess the key to the army integration so all sides should pile pressure on them, he noted, accusing the Maoists of creating confusions in the statute-drafting process instead of honestly implementing the seven-point deal.
Association Chairperson Hari Kumar Shrestha presided over the general convention. RSS
