KATHMANDU: The Nepal Banda strike called by the Jatiya Sadbhav Samyukta Sangharsha Samiti (struggle committee) has called off today’s Banda.
The committee, which had resorted to agitation from Thursday demanding inclusion of Chhetri, Bramhan, Dashnami, Sanyasi, Thakuri, Dalit and back ward classes in the list of indigenous communities, had called Nepal Banda today also, saying the talks with government yesterday, had failed. But the committee withdrew the Banda saying it had caused problem to the people.
However, vehicles were running thickly since early morning today. Although the Banda was not clearly announced, a large number of security personnel were mobilized in the capital today. RSS
