Nembang has a rider to bring statute by May 27
N24, KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, Subash Nembang, has said that the constitution could be promulgated by May 27 if the army integration was concluded before mid April.
As the army integration process was nearing its end as a result of rigorous discussion among parties, the atmosphere for constitution promulgation has become very positive recently, he claimed.
Releasing a memoir ‘Mero Jivanka Panaharu’ (Pages of My Life) penned by former legislator Gaura Prasain at a pogramme here on Friday, Chairman Nembang lauded author Prasain for the dauntless politics.
The women would be empowered as equally as men by ensuring their rights in new constitution, he said.
On the occasion, Vice-Chairperson of the CA Purna Kumari Subedi reiterated that the new constitution would ensure the rights of women, ethnic communities and the minorities.
Other speakers including Nepali Congress leader Suprabha Ghimire and Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy, Ganga Prasad Upreti said author Prasain had contributed to the society not only through politics but through literature as well.
The memoir details the ups and downs of the political life of Prasian, who embarked on a political journey at the tender age of 13. RSS
