NC, UML and fringe parties to launch nationwide protests on June 8

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress, CPN UML and 16 fringe parties have teamed up agains the government and to what they called the ‘unconstitutional move’ to hold CA elections on November 22.

A joint meeting between these parties held in the capital on Friday concluded to launch nation wide joint protest programs on June 8 to pressurize the government to step down and pave way for the formation of national consensus government.

CPN UML Chairman Jhalnath Khanal said that they won’t sit for talks with the government on any of the issue unless he stepped down and warned that the nation will plunge into chaos if the PM did not do so.

He claimed that if the nation enters such a condition, than the Maoist and the PM will have to take the responsibility.

Khanal asserted that the PM should accept the blame of dissolving the CA and of transforming the government into caretaker government while exiting the meeting.
