NBA charting out strategy against yet-to-be-formed CJ-led govt

Kathmandu:
After the Chief Justice Khilraj Regmi nod to accept the offer of four major political forces to lead the election government, Nepal Bar Association, an umbrella organization of lawyers, is holding a meeting today to come up with its official stance. The chairperson and the officials of NBA has expressed serious reservations over the proposal of giving the leadership role to the CJ claiming that such role would be a serious breach of separation of power theory. The meeting scheduled to be held at its central office Ramshahpath would chart out the strategy over the NBA’s role on the current context.
“We are going to discuss the CJ’s acceptance to assume the role of government head by issuing press release through the Supreme Court and after the meeting the NBA will make its official stance public,” said NBA Chairperson Hari Krishna Karku and added that they are likely to go for protest against the decision of the four political forces to form government under CJ. NBA officials, executive members and former chairpersons are attending the meeting.
