Naumati Band Rocks Asian Music Festival

Farnborough/n24: As the London Olympics closes in, Hampshire County Council celebrates with the launch of Asian Music Festival and the slogan ‘Together for Music’.

In the festival, First Naumati Band Gulmi, UK took part under Gulmi District Society’s president Om Prasad Thapa’s leadership and have entertained the British crowd for 45 mins with their unique Nepali music and performances.

The team played authentic Nepali musical instruments especially used in the weddings, such as Narsingha, Sahanai, Temko and Damaha and rocked everyone to their beat. Thapa announced after the program that Naumati Band UK is also participating at the program organized by Hampshire County during the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.

The composer of the band Top Kalli stated that their effort has been to introduce Nepali culture and identity in the UK and also hopes that it would help promote Nepali cultural tourism in the UK. The cultural coordinator of the County Council, Cavin Roger is delighted to work with the Nepali band during the Olympic openings.
