Nationwide campaign against witchcraft

BIRATNAGAR: WOREC-Nepal and District Alliance of Women Human Rights Defenders have initiated a 60-day campaign on crime against women for allegedly practicing witchcraft.

At a press conference organized here on Thursday by the Alliance, it was said that the campaign has been put in place to make stakeholders from local to national level aware on crime meted out against women for allegedly practicing witchcraft and lobby to ensure the justice to and livelihood of the victims.

The campaign is in place in different municipalities and VDCs of 16 districts including Morang, Siraha, Saptari, Udayapur, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Sindhuli, Chitwan, Makawanpur, Terhathum, Dang, Sunsari, Kailali and Lalitpur. RSS
