Nation cannot afford another conflict: Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has said the task of promulgating new constitution after completing the peace process should be accomplished within May 27 as the country could not manage further conflict.

Addressing cadres’ gathering organized here today by the NC, Butwal Town Committee, President Koirala further stressed the urgency of promulgating new constitution by concluding the peace process since the country would face the fate of Afghanistan if it ushered into conflict.

There is no need to sign additional agreements for delivering peace and constitution, he argued, adding the Maoists should abide by the past agreements

He also underlined the need to make a strong and united Congress to take the leadership of the government. ‘

‘I am dedicated as how to consolidate the party organization and move ahead by roping in all cadres’, Koirala added.

NC central member Bal Krishna Khand said the differences surfaced within the party should be managed to run party effectively. RSS
