NEAJA all set for third convention
New York, USA: Nepal America Journalist Association has completed all preparation for its upcoming third general convention. The convention will be held on coming Saturday and Sunday in New York. Organizers have claimed that the convention will be participated by around 80 journalist.
“We have prepared a list of one hundred and ten journalist and we expect that two third of them will participate in the event,” said Aang Chiring Sherpa, General secretary of NEAJA.
NEAJA President Krishna Sharma said that the convention will also hold discussions on establishing award to strengthen and boost moral of Nepalese journalist.
NEAJA founding President Girish Pokhrel has stressed on the need to elect a consensual president to the organization instead of elections.
“It is essential to form the new executive committee to avert unhealthy competition between contenders who cannot accept democratic outcomes,” said Pokhrel.
So far no official announcement has been made for the top posts of the organization.
