MTPD collects record revenue

KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division (MTPD) collected revenue worth over Rs. 73 million until April 12 of the current fiscal year.

The Division collected revenue worth Rs. 73.791,975 under various headings during that period.

This information was given out at a news conference the Division organized on Wednesday. It is stated the Division and bodies under it raised Rs. 48. 1 million in revenues, Rs. 17.2 million in fines collected for drunk driving by the mobile courts and Rs. 8.3 million by other mobile courts.

The Division took action against and fined 478,976 people for breaking traffic rules while the Mobile Court took action against 23,459 people, it is stated.

MTPD Chief Ganesh Raj Rai said the Division collected revenue of Rs. 34.9 million last year whereas the revenue collection in the nine months of the current fiscal year was more than double of the last year’s figure. RSS
