Mother, daughter buried in landslide in Okhaldhunga, Eastern Nepal

OKHALDHUNGA: A woman and her daughter have died after their house was buried in a landslide today. Puti Sherpa,44, and her 10-year-old daughter Yangji died after being buried inside their house in Patle Talkot in ward no. 7 of Molung rural municipality.
They were inside their home when landslide triggered by heavy rainfall buried their house all of a sudden, ward chair Hem Bahadur Sunuwar said. Their bodies have been recovered from the debris by the locals.
Likewise, Khanchi Maya Shrestha,45, a resident of ward no. 6 in Siddhicharan municipality died after being buried in a landslide. So far, five people have died due to floods and landslides in the district.
On Friday, Pasang Kuti Sherpa,85, of Chisangkhugadhi rural municipality and Kumar Rai,55, of Sunkoshi rural municipality-4 died after being swept away by floods, police said.
