More than 20 micro hydro projects constructed in Solu in the past half decade

SOLUKHUMBU: More than 20 micro hydroelectricity projects have been constructed in the district in the last five years. These many micro hydel projects have been built since the construction of the Kharikhola Micro Hydroelectricity Project at Kangel and Juving in 2064 BS.

Altogether these micro hydroelectricity projects generate some 715 Kilowatts of power and nearly 6,000 households have been benefited by this.

Before this, two hydroelectricity projects had already been operating in the district. They are the Salleri Chyalsa Hydroelectricity Project with a capacity of generating 400 kilowatts of power and the Thame Hydro Electricity Project with the installed capacity of 640 kilowatts.

With this, currently a total of 1,750 kilowatts of power is generated in Solukhumbu district. RSS
