Martyrs Memorial Foundation in Tortoise Protection
The Foundation plans to develop the wetland area under its ownership at Sanischare-7 in Jhapa district into a tortoise rehabilitation and protection centre. The Amphibian and Reptiles Conservation (ARCO) Nepal is to provide support to the Foundation in this endeavour.
President of the Foundation, Devraj Ghimire, said an agreement has been signed between the two organizations for that purpose and initially ARCO Nepal will provide US Dollars 35,000 to the Foundation.
Six ponds are o be constructed on 10 Kaththa of the wetland for tortoise breeding and habitatation. RSS
