Maoist’s flexibility has eased statute drafting process: Karna

N24 Correspondent, BIRGUNJ: Co-chairman of Sadbhawana Party, Laxman Lal Karna  has claimed that the new constitution will be promulgated by incorporating federalism by the May 27 deadline.

Speaking at his party’s program in Parsa on Sunday, Karna also informed that parties had neared consensus on major outstanding issues of the constitution writing process.

He further said parties have reached close to settling the disputed issues including electoral system, form of governance, judicial system, citizenship and added that the first draft of the constitution would probably come within April 19.

Co-chairman Karna stated that the UCPN-Maoist of late has adopted flexibility on the remaining issues in the peace process and constitution writing. As a result, the army integration and management work have moved ahead, he said.
