Maoist threatens journalists in Dailekh

DAILEKH:
UCPN (Maoist) and CPN (Maoist) cadres are intimidating the journalists in Dailekh over the arrest of their cadres in connection of the murder of journalist Dekendra Thapa, some six years ago. The journalists have demanded their security with the government following the threats of the Maoist in the district.
After the Maoist issued threats to the journalists, the latter have sought the security from the Police. They have registered an application in District Administration Office demanding security.

Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dhakal has directed the District Police Office, Dailekh to ensure security for the journalists.
The CPN (Maoist) and UCPN (Maoist) have released a press statement threatening the journalists and concerned stake holders that “anything could happen” if the arrested are not released immediately.
