Maoist supremo vary about practicing ‘dialectics’, stresses on centralizing power

KATHMANDU: Chairman of UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has proposed in his latest political report to centralize power in the party’s leadership and thereby check intra-party struggle.

In the report tabled by Chairman Dahal at the central committee meeting that began here on Thursday, Mr Dahal has said that the time has come to put some controlling measures in the party, as the excessive practice of ‘populism’ led to a division in the party.

Referring to the report, UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma said the Chairman’s report states that the party reached to a point of division as the free use of ‘populism’ was granted in the struggle within the party.

Chairman Dahal read out the 38-page report at the meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Paris Danda, Koteswor today.

The report carries an assessment of the overall intra-party struggle, evaluation of the political struggle, international scenario and the state of national politics.

It also discusses about the political situation since the 12-point agreement to the present and the future course of action.

The meeting shall continue tomorrow at 10:00 am, according to the party. RSS
