Maoist should give up their double standard: Koirala

KATHMANDU: President of the Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, has claimed that only Nepali Congress could give political outlet to the country through the politics of unity, cooperation and consensus.

At a programme organized at Dhapasi by his party on the occasion of the BP Memorial Day today, President Koirala urged the Maoists leaders to quit double standard.

Leader Koirala further told the Maoists not to deceive people but gain confidence.

Inaugurating the Mangaladevi Memorial Building on the occasion, he said party split was disappointing but the politics of violence done by Maoists led to their party split.

Consensus has no alternative at all, he said, adding his party was taking together the dialogue and protest programmes.

Also speaking on the occasion, party General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula said the NC would give political outlet very soon.

He claimed that the Maoist party has trapped itself in crisis by declaring new election.

Central Member Narahari Acharya said the election to constituent assembly was announced just for the sake of announcement. RSS
