Maoist SC meet put off

KATHMANDU: Reasoning the lack of preparation, the UCPN-Maoist has postponed its standing committee meeting said to be held this evening.

The standing committee meeting was to discuss the package deal on Head office of UCPN Maoist at Paris Danda, Kathmanduthe demands of the PLA fighters taken out of the cantonments and named YCL cadres by the party.

Following the mounting pressure by the YCL cadres on the party on their demand of compensation as to the fighters bid farewell, the meeting of the party headquarters, commanders of the fighters, and YCL representatives was to address the YCL demand with package deal.

Press Coordinator of the Party Chairman, Santosh Poudel told media that as commander of Maoists fighters, Nand Kishor Pun was out of the Kathmandu Valley, the standing committee meeting was put off, and they would meet next on March 12.

Former general secretary of the YCL, Dilip Prajapati said record of those taken out of the cantonments for birthing YCL cadres was being updated.

The meeting of the office bearers of the Maoist party had assigned standing committee member Netra Bikram Chanda and politburo member Janardan Sharma to bring concrete work plan of the package deal on YCL demands. RSS
