Maoist pave way to conclude peace process: Gajurel

KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Politburo member Haribol Gajurel has said that decision made by the Maoist party regarding army integration has paved ways for the drafting of the new constitution within May 27.

At a news conference organized by the Revolutionary Journalists’ Association in Itahari today, Gajurel said that bold decision made by the party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on April 10 has excited the Nepali people.

He added that the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML will be responsible if the constitution was not written in time.

Recalling former prime minister late Girija Prasad Koirala, Gajurel, who is also In-charge of the Maoist’s Kochila State Committee, said that country has lacked a personality like Koirala for taking bold decisions if necessary.

He further said that those disturbing crucial works done in decisive moment will be sidelined by people.

On the occasion, Maoist central committee member and personal secretary of the prime minister, Ganga Shrestha claimed that Bhattarai-led government will conclude the peace process.
