Maoist officially backtracks from 5-point agreemo, denys change of guard
Stating that both parties have denied neither accepted to extend the term of the CA nor accepted to resolve disputed issues through majority based voting to promulgate the new constitution on May 27, an informal meeting of the UCPN Maoist conceded on Thursday.
The meeting held at Maoist Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal’s residence in the capital, concluded that the both parties were conspiring to create additional chaos in the nation by not extending the term of the CA and making defunct informed party spokesperson Dinnath Sharma.
Moreover the party has decided not give up the government’s leadership unless the promulgation of the new constitution is ascertained Sharma said adding that PM Bhattarai will step down as per the five point agreement only after the conducive environment is created for promulgating the new constitution.
The decision comes at a time, when both NC and UML have demanded PM’s resignation as pre-condition to extend the term of the CA.
