Maoist, Madheshi Front to resolve disputes through voting, NC-UML left to fume

KATHMANDU:  UCPN Maoist and the Joint Democratic Madheshi Front (JDMF) has agreed to resolve disputed issues through voting in the Constituent Assembly (CA).

While stating that they will make a last ditch attempt to resolve all issues through consensus with Congress and UML, both political parties decided to resolve disputes in the CA through majority voting.
The meeting, held at Maoist Supremo’s house in Lainchaur, resolved to settle issues through voting.
The decision however has been taken as a threat by Congress and UML as most of their indigenious nationalities, madheshi, and Tharu lawmakers have warned to cross the floor in support of the unitary-ethnic-identity lawmakers.
The four party meeting is scheduled to kick off later today informed Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav.

On Monday, the Maoists had proposed 10 state model on the basis unitary-ethnic-based identity and was backed by the Front. But Congress and UML had slammed the proposal stating it to be a backtrack on earlier understanding.
