Madheshi armed outfit ready for giving up arms
BIRGUNJ: Janatantrik Madhes Mukti Morcha (Bhagat Singh), an armed outfit operating violent activities in Tarai, said that the group is ready to hand over the arms and combatants to its disposal to the government.
Organizing a press conference in Birjung today, leader of the group and member of the peace talks team, Manoj Mandal (Subash) said the government has not paid any heed to them though they were ready to hold dialogues again with the government and to give details about their combatants.
The first dialogue between the government and the outfit was held on February 25 in Lumbini. However, next round of talks is yet to be held.
Mandal further said that they are ready to quit criminal activities and launch peaceful movements for the rights of the people of Madhes. He claimed that the group has around 12,000 combatants.
Mandal said that ‘One Madhes, One Province’ was the demand of his group adding that this demand could be raised in a peaceful manner.
Coordinator of the talks team Prahalad Ram and others leaders of the outfit were present in the news conference. RSS
