Last Notre-Dame paintings to be removed and stored: minister
PARIS, (AFP): The remaining paintings inside the fire-damaged Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris are to be removed on Friday and taken for restoration work and safekeeping, France’s Culture Minister Franck Riester said.
“The paintings inside the cathedral have been saved from the flames and can now be taken down and transported to safe areas,” he said.
Officials had been waiting for a green light from the fire service before heading inside the still fragile cathedral structure, with the works expected to be taken to the Louvre museum.
