Landslides sweeps away eight houses, Beni-Jomsom road section obstructed

MYAGDI: Landslides following incessant rainfall have swept away eight houses at different places in northern Myagdi and floods have obstructed Beni-Jomsom road section.

The landslides swept away three houses of Sunari village in Dowa VDC.

The landslides occurred this morning swept away a shed and five cows of Ka Prasad Purja. The landslides also swept away two houses of the same place.  No human casualty has been reported yet.

Similarly, houses of Sabin Pun and Chumaya Ramjali of Bagar in Dowa VDC were also  washed away in the landslides. The landslides also destroyed a building of Krishna Primary School at Bagar.

Likewise, the landslides swept away house of Gopal Purja at Bhurung village in Bhurungtatopani VDC-3 and another house of an unidentified person.

Beni-Jomsom road section has been obstructed after flood on Kali Gandaki River eroded the road at Bhirkote.

According to senior vice-chairman of Myagdi Jeep and Bus Entrepreneurs’ Committee, Surat KC, the flood swept away a truck with the Registration No. Dha 1 Ka 50 from the same place.

Police teams from the District Police Office, Myagdi, Police Post, Dhara and Area Police Office, Bhurungtatopani, have headed towards the incident site for rescue. RSS
