Koirala sees threat on nationality rising under Maoist led govt

JANAKPURDHAM:
Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that the Nepal at present was so weak that threats on its nationality have been on the rise during the Maoist led government.
He also accused the Madhesi Front currently in the government under the leadership of Dr Baburam Bhattarai were also authoritarian like the UCPN-Maoists.
Addressing a gathering organized jointly by the major opposition parties at Tirahutiya Gachhi here on Wednesday, President Koirala said the Madhesi Front was indifferent to the problems of madhesi people after it accepted Maoists’ leadership in government.
On the occasion, Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said that the Maoist was the major obstacle to making the country a federal democratic republic/
However, there would be no national consensus, bypassing the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML.
Similarly, Vice-Chairman of the CPN-UML Bamdev Gautam accused the UCPN-Maoist of making efforts to impose ethic federalism.
“The UCPN-Maoist would fade way like the fascist Hitler with its fake socialism diminishing,” he argued.
