Koirala seeks support of Thakur for Congress led govt

KATHMANDU:
Following the President Dr Rambaran Yadav call for the formation of national consensus government, Nepali Congress has intensified the consultations with various political parties. As part of the consultations, Congress President Sushil Koirala invited one of the influential leader of the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morca (SLMM) and chairperson of Terai Madhes Democratic Party to his own residence Maharajgunj on Monday morning for the meeting. During the meeting, it is learnt, Koirala asked Thakur to support the Congress leadership for the yet-to-be-formed national consensus government.
However, Leader Thakur didn’t assure Koirala for the support, sources said. The meeting between the two leaders dwelt upon the issue of recommending the Prime Minister candidate for the consensus government to the President within the deadline.
