Koirala seeks Prachanda’s support for govt leadership

KATHMANDU:
As part of meeting the leaders from various parties in a bid to solicit their support for the leadership of the yet-to-be-formed national consensus government, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has requested UCPN (Maoist) chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to support his bid for Prime Minister.
At the talks held at the Lazimpat residence of Prachanda, Congress President Koirala has urged for the Maoist party’s support in formation of the national consensus government arguing that that the Maoist and UML have already twice led the government and it’s the turn of Congress.
In response, Chairman Dahal urged Mr Koirala for his support in converting the present government into a national consensus one.
Talking to media persons following the meeting, NC President Koirala said he urged Chairman Dahal to support the formation of the national consensus government.
