Khanal trashes Prachanda’s proposal

KATHMANDU: CPN UML Chairman Jhalnath Khanal has trashed away Maoist supremo Prachanda’s request to come to talks dropping down joint protest programs announced by opposition parties.

Stressing on the need to pave way for consensus and peaceful talks for managing present transition, Prachanda had urged Khanal for becoming responsible and grave over the present status quo.

However Khanal rejected the request and said that the PM should step down immediately for creating consensus environment.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Khanal informed that he had stressed on rolling back the elections and providing an outlet to the nation from the present political impasse.

He said that the caretaker PM should pave way for garnering consensus by stepping down immediately on the occassion.

Exiting the meeting, Dahal said that parties were positive in sorting out differences through talks and were presently mulling on reinstating CA, holding new elections and issues related to federalism.
