Khanal says PM should resign to pave way for national consensus government
Speaking briefly to the media persons after visiting Nepali Congress Vice-president at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, he raised questions on the response of Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai after his return from the UN Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and urged Dr Bhattarai to be serious that ‘the energy he received from the UN conference would not work’. “No news of force from Rio would work in Nepal. At a time when he should be working for political consensus, PM Bhattarai is throwing childish tantrums,” said Khanal. He added Prime Minister’s remark was not a responsible one.
Former Prime Minister Khanal refuted any consensus until Dr. Bhattarai step down from his post and pave the way for the national consensus government. Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai returned from Brazil after attending the three-day high-level UN Conference on Sustainable Development held in Brazil from June 20-22. Dr. Bhattarai had left for Brazil on June 18 despite of the protests from various quarters.
