Khanal denies to give in to Fin Min’s candy-talks on budget

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhalanath Khanal has said that a complete budget should not be brought without national consensus.

Khanal suggested Minister for Finance, Barshaman Pun not to include new programmes in the budget without consensus. Finance Minister Pun reached the house of Khanal at Dallu, this morning, to familiarize Khanal about the new budget.

During the meeting, Khanal said that the government had no authority to bring a complete budget as it is a caretaker one.Talking to media persons after the meeting, he said it was necessary that the new budget should be brought on national consensus.

On the occasion, the Finance Minister informed Khanal about the current economy and preparations of the budget for the fiscal year 2012/13.

Informing that he has been making preparations to bring a complete budget, Pun expressed the commitment that the budget will be brought on consensus.On Thursday, Pun also familiarized President of Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala about the budget. RSS
