Journalist Adhikari killed in accident

SAPTARI: A journalist died today when a Scorpio jeep en route to Biratnagar from Rupandehi met with an accident after losing balance.
Dayalsaon Adhikari, 42, a correspondent for Radio Nepal Rupandehi and Butwal Today died on the spot in the road accident that occurred at Kanchanrup municipality-11, Baksaha in Saptari along the East-West Highway, shared Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of Area Police Office Kanchanrup.
According to the police the mishap took place when the speeding Scorpio jeep (Ba 16 Pa 2235) lost the balance and subsequently knocked the stationary scooter (Sa 11 Pa 4629).
The injured in the accident are Jhabindra Prasad Kandel (JP Kandel), 52, Chair of Rupandehi Chamber of Commerce, Ramnath Pandey, 46, ward chair of Tilottama municipality-1, Sohan Chaudhary Tharu, 46, of ward-5 chair and jeep driver Ashok Bhandari, 36, of Rupandehi Siyari rural municipality-5. All of them were onboard the jeep during the time of accident.
The wounded having injuries on their hand, face and head were rushed to Biratnagar-based Nobel Hospital for their treatment, Mishra informed. Driver Bhandari is said to be in critical condition.
The dead body of journalist Adhiari has been kept at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital for the post-mortem.
