Joint attorney caught red-handed taking bribe

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Wednesday caught joint attorney Surendra Bahadur Thapa red-handed taking bribe from a service recipient.
Thapa, who works at the senior public prosecutor office was arrested from his office while taking a bribe of Rs 500,000 from one of his clients, said a CIAA official. Likewise, the CIAA team arrested land revenue officer Khem Narayan Poudel and non-gazetted second class officer Sanjaya Sharma red-handed taking bribe worth Rs 50,000.
