Janakpur shutdown in mourning

JANAKPUR: Janakpur town has been shut down today to protest yesterday’s bomb explosion at local Ramananda Chowk.

Ranju Jha, Bimal Sharan Das, Jhagaru Mandal and Suresh Upadhayay died and around three dozen people holding a sit-in protest were injured in the incident.

The bomb went off near the site of the sit-in agitation launched by Mithila State Struggle Committee where people were demonstrating demanding establishment of Mithila state.

Fifteen seriously injured people including coordinator of the Struggle Committee, Parameshwor Kapadi, are undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj in Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, a three-member Investigation Team under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Khatri formed by the government to carry out investigation about the incident has started its work. RSS
