International mountain bike competition kicks off
SYNGJA: An International Mountain Bike Competition has kicked off at Waling today.
The competition aimed at identifying the district as a place of adventure tourism is organized by Wonderful Waling Tourism Development Association with the assistance of Waling municipality.
Association Chairman, Dinkar Nepal, informed that the competition was organized to make Waling popular all across the globe as the destination of world cycling. The competition was inaugurated by Waling municipality mayor Dilip Pratap Khand at Surkaudi.
A total of 28 persons including two times world champion Mary Wallace and another foreigner have participated in the match. Association Secretary Mohan Gurung informed that 18 players from Nepal Army, Armed Police Force have joined the competition.
The day long cycling beginning from Surkaudi goes through Triyashi, Singarkosh, Jagatbhanjyang, Garaushur temple, Bajakot, Karadi, Udiyachaur, Ghurungkha, Dumrabhangjyang, Swarek Dauwaphat and return the same to the origin before 5:00 pm.
The winner gets the prize of Rs 500 thousand.
